This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, March 1-3, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Theta-Xi Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother William R. SanGiacomo. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother SanGiacomo's name that will benefit a Theta-Xi Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Theta-Xi does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Theta-Xi undergraduates.
Brother SanGiacomo is a 1966 Founding Father and Charter member of the Theta-Xi Chapter at Tri-State College, now named Trine University in Angola, Ind. SanGiacomo would shortly thereafter become the Alumnus Advisor of the Chapter, remaining in the position for 57 years until his retirement in 2023. Uniquely, this makes Brother SanGiacomo present for every initiation since the Chapter’s founding. SanGiacomo has been instrumental in the success of the Chapter, assisting in energizing Actives and Alumni alike. He was a driving factor behind the full payment of the $1.2 million Chapter House within 12 years of the house’s opening.
In addition to the support of the Chapter, he is also a three-time Indiana Regional Coach of the Year recipient and Director of the Golf Management Program at TSU for 20 years. This past Fall, SanGiacomo received the John G. Tower Award honoring “Kappa Sigma Brothers who have shown a commitment to their business, family, church, philanthropy, and community activities.” This prestigious award is considered one of the highest honors Alumni can receive within the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Coach SanGiacomo. Donate Now!
