This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, March 1-3, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Theta-Zeta Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Leroy D. Peer. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Peer's name that will benefit a Theta-Zeta Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Theta-Zeta does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Theta-Zeta undergraduates.
Brother Leroy D. Peer was initiated in the Fall of 1988. As an undergraduate, he served as Theta-Zeta's Grand Master, Grand Procurator, and Grand Master of Ceremonies. As a Theta-Zeta Chapter volunteer for over 28 years, Brother Peer served as Alumnus Advisor, Assistant Alumnus Advisor, and Assistant District Grand Master. Additionally, Brother Peer has served as the VP and Treasurer of the Theta-Zeta Housing Corporation. He has mentored hundreds of undergraduate Brothers and has been recognized five times as Kappa Sigma Alumnus Advisor of the Year, Outstanding First Year Volunteer, Outstanding Alumnus Advisor, Outstanding Assistant Alumnus Advisor, and Assistant Alumnus Advisor of the Year.
Brother Peer was also honored for his significant contribution to the fraternity at the 72nd Biennial Grand Conclave, Kappa Sigma's 150th anniversary, with the Stephen Alonzo Jackson Award. Brother Peer wears Jackson's Men Pin number 980 and has been recognized as a McCormick Circle Silver Scroll donor to the Kappa Sigma Endowment Fund. He currently resides in Cedar Crest, New Mexico, with his wife, Sydney, and their daughter, Whitney.
Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Leroy D. Peer. Donate Now!
