#SAJGIVING HAS ENDED BUT THERE IS STILL TIME TO MAKE A GIFT HERE!
Alpha-Nu (Wofford College)
Support Kappa Sigma at Wofford College!

This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, March 1-3, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Alpha-Nu Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Craig D. Melvin. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Melvin's name that will benefit an Alpha-Nu Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Alpha-Nu does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Alpha-Nu undergraduates.

Craig D. Melvin is a 1998 initiate of the Alpha-Nu Chapter of Kappa Sigma at Wofford College, where he was an undergraduate officer and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001. Prior to his current role as news anchor on NBC News’ TODAY, co-host of the 3rd Hour of TODAY, and a host of syndicated “Dateline NBC” broadcasts, Brother Melvin spent more than a decade as a correspondent and show host for NBC and MSNBC, covering breaking news, human interest and political stories including Election Night Coverage, the Rio Olympics, the George Zimmerman Trial, and Republican and Democratic Conventions.

Last November, Brother Melvin was named the 2023 Kappa Sigma Man of the Year. He is the 90th member of Kappa Sigma to receive the honor, which is presented annually in recognition of extraordinary professional success and societal impact. “Brother Melvin sets a wonderful example for the undergraduate Brothers of Kappa Sigma,” said Burton R. Trembly, Worthy Grand Master. “Through his achievements, they are inspired to follow their passions and are reminded that, with diligence and hard work, they too can reach the pinnacle of their profession. He exemplifies the values of our organization and brings honor to himself, his family, and all members of Kappa Sigma.”

“I am so honored to be chosen as Kappa Sigma’s Man Of The Year. I have such fond memories from my days at the Alpha-Nu Chapter at Wofford College and am so proud to continue the Kappa Sigma legacy of excellence.” - Craig Melvin.

He is the author of a memoir called Pops: Learning to Be a Son and a Father, which explores his relationship with his dad and his own experience as a parent. In 2021, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, a national non-profit charitable organization, announced Melvin’s appointment to its Board of Directors.

The Craig D. Melvin Scholarship-Leadership Award will be given annually to an Alpha-Nu undergraduate member who excels in scholarship, leadership, and community service, all of which reflect the example Brother Melvin has provided.

Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Craig D. Melvin. Donate Now!
