#SAJGIVING HAS ENDED BUT THERE IS STILL TIME TO MAKE A GIFT HERE!
Delta-Sigma (The University of Utah)
Support Kappa Sigma at the University of Utah!

This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, March 1-3, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Delta-Sigma Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Henry A. Lopez. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Lopez's name that will benefit a Delta-Sigma Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Delta-Sigma does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Delta-Sigma undergraduates.

Henry Lopez was born on June 16, 1990, to Adolfo Lopez Barrientos and Maria Dalila Ambrocio. Born with a heart full of compassion and positivity, he touched countless lives with his kindness and unwavering support in his 27 years of life. He grew up loving soccer and making friends wherever he went. His enthusiasm for the game spilled into everything Henry did, giving him the confidence and energy to achieve anything he set his mind to, often inspiring others along the way.

Henry graduated from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and began attending the University of Utah in the fall of 2008. It wasn’t long until Henry’s passion led him to Kappa Sigma. As a Founding Father initiated in 2009, he joined during a pivotal moment for the Chapter. His love for the house, competitive spirit, hard work, and affable attitude were paramount in recruitment and not only re-establishing the Delta-Sigma Chapter but also our presence at the U during that time.

Henry's remarkable character shone brightest in moments of adversity. Known to drop everything to help Brothers in their time of need, whether with school, family, or life in general, his selflessness and resourcefulness during challenging times and crises knew no bounds. His innate ability to rise to any occasion, coupled with his infectious laughter and authentic spirit, made him a cherished friend, confidant, and mentor to all. Especially those he called Brothers. It was important to Henry that everyone felt seen and heard and had a safe place to be themselves. Henry treated and cared for Kappa Sigma like an extension of his family - an extension of his home.

Henry passed away on February 23, 2018, doing what he loved most: playing soccer. While his life may have been abruptly cut short, Henry's legacy is measured not in years but in the countless lives he touched and the enduring memories he created. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him and the spaces he helped shape and protect. We will never forget Henry for the enduring power of his kindness, grit, and indelible mark on the world and Kappa Sigma.

Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Henry A. Lopez. Donate Now!
