#SAJGIVING HAS ENDED BUT THERE IS STILL TIME TO MAKE A GIFT HERE!
Gamma-Upsilon (Rutgers University )
Support Kappa Sigma at Rutgers University

This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, March 1-3, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Gamma-Upsilon Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Edward G. Sponzilli. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Sponzilli's name that will benefit a Gamma-Upsilon Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Gamma-Upsilon does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Gamma-Upsilon undergraduates.

Brother Edward G. “Sponz” Sponzilli is a 1970 initiate of the Gamma-Upsilon Chapter and is beloved by many for his enduring commitment and dedication to the Brothers at Rutgers. “Sponz” served many years as the Chapter’s Alumnus Advisor, District Grand Master, Trustee for the Gamma-Upsilon Alumni Association, and even as Legal Commissioner for Kappa Sigma. His love for Kappa Sigma and the Gamma-Upsilon Chapter is exemplified in the years of wisdom and guidance he’s provided to our Brothers, from life and career advice to just providing a supportive and listening ear.

In recognition of his dedicated service to Kappa Sigma, in 1999, “Sponz” was awarded the Stephen Alonzo Jackson Award, the highest honor a Kappa Sigma volunteer can receive. “Sponz” is an attorney at Norris McLaughlin in Bridgewater, N.J., where he is a seasoned litigator in commercial and corporate, education, and employment matters. His legal career brought him back to Rutgers, where he taught as a faculty member and served as counsel to the University on numerous occasions. The Edward G. Sponzilli scholarship will be awarded yearly to an undergraduate from Gamma-Upsilon in perpetuity, forever cementing Sponz’s legacy at Gamma-Upsilon.

Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Edward G. Sponzilli. Donate Now!
