This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, March 6-8, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Theta-Rho Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Wade Rousse. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to establish a permanent $1,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Rousse's name that will benefit a Theta-Rho Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. When the Theta-Rho Chapter reaches $25,000 raised during the weekend, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award.

Brother Wade Rousse is a rare kind of leader—one whose influence is felt not through titles alone, but through consistent presence, humility, and service. As a special initiate of the Theta-Rho Chapter, Brother Rousse’s bond to the Order was immediate and unmistakable. Initiated on November 10, 2024, he didn’t treat Brotherhood as a ceremonial honor; he treated it as a lifelong commitment. In fact, his very first act as a newly initiated Brother was to pay his lifetime dues—an intentional declaration that his investment in Kappa Sigma would be enduring, generational, and rooted in the values of the Star and Crescent.
As President of McNeese State University, Brother Rousse embodied servant leadership in a way the campus will not soon forget. Known for leading from within the community, he and his wife made the extraordinary decision to move into a student residence hall to better understand student life and the needs of those he served—an uncommon act of proximity and empathy that reflected his belief that leadership begins with listening. Within Theta-Rho, his impact was deeply personal: mentoring brothers, offering steady guidance, and making time—despite a demanding schedule—to show up, connect, and encourage. Whether on campus or at university athletic events, he modeled what it means to be a scholar, a leader, and a friend to all. Theta-Rho honors Brother Rousse because he has not only supported the chapter—he has strengthened the men of it.
Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Wade Rousse. Donate Now!
There is no risk to participating in this special Named Scholarship because all amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will be directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Theta-Rho undergraduates.
Scholarship-Leadership Award Applications open on September 1st every year, and winners are announced on December 10th.
