#SAJGIVING HAS ENDED BUT THERE IS STILL TIME TO MAKE A GIFT HERE!
Xi-Delta (The University of Texas at San Antonio)
Support Kappa Sigma at UTSA!

This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Xi-Delta Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Carlos A. Lopez. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Lopez's name that will benefit a Xi-Delta Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Xi-Delta does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will be directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Xi-Delta undergraduates.

Carlos A. Lopez is a dedicated leader, mentor, and lifelong Kappa Sigma whose commitment to the Fraternity has shaped both his personal and professional life. Initiated in Fall 2015 as part of the Epsilon class, Carlos quickly rose through the ranks, serving as Fundraising Chair, Treasurer, and ultimately, Chapter President. Through these roles, he honed his skills in leadership, financial management, and event coordination, preparing him for a future of service and mentorship.

Even after graduating, Carlos remained deeply involved in Kappa Sigma, dedicating his time to guiding the next generation of Brothers. In 2021, he moved to San Antonio and began serving as an Assistant Alumnus Advisor for the Xi-Delta Chapter at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), later becoming the Alumnus Advisor in 2024. His efforts in strengthening the Chapter and mentoring Brothers were recognized when he was nominated for the Outstanding First Year Volunteer Award.

Brother Lopez firmly believes in the transformative power of Kappa Sigma, emphasizing how the fraternity’s Four Pillars—Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service—are essential to personal and professional success. His dedication to uplifting and inspiring young leaders is the driving force behind this scholarship, which seeks to support future Brothers who embody these values and strive to leave a lasting impact on their Chapter, community, and beyond.

The Carlos A. Lopez Scholarship-Leadership Award will be given annually to a Xi-Delta undergraduate member who excels in scholarship, leadership, and community service, all of which reflect the example Brother Lopez has provided.

Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Carlos A. Lopez. Donate Now!
