#SAJGIVING HAS ENDED BUT THERE IS STILL TIME TO MAKE A GIFT HERE!
Mu-Eta (University of Louisville)
Support Kappa Sigma at Louisville!

This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Mu-Eta Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Stephen M. Vest. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Vest's name that will benefit a Mu-Eta Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Mu-Eta does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will be directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Mu-Eta undergraduates.

Stephen M. Vest, a 1983 initiate of the Mu-Eta Chapter of Kappa Sigma at the University of Louisville, has demonstrated unwavering dedication to both his fraternity and his community. Professionally, Brother Vest is the editor and publisher of Kentucky Monthly magazine, a publication he founded in 1998 with more than 100,000 readers. Under his leadership, the magazine received the Governor's Award in the Arts for Media in 2005, recognizing its significant contributions to Kentucky's cultural landscape. In addition to his editorial work, Vest is an accomplished author, with publications including Unexpected Inheritance, a memoir reflecting on his upbringing, and THAT Kind of Journalist: The Collected Ramblings of Kentucky Monthly's Stephen M. Vest.

Beyond his publishing endeavors, Brother Vest has served as a Kappa Sigma Volunteer for over 30 years. He is currently the Assistant District Grand Master for Greater Kentucky, exemplifying his commitment to guiding and mentoring Fraternity members. In addition to his volunteer work, Brother Vest teaches communications at Campbellsville University, public speaking at Midway University, and feature writing and storytelling at Eastern Kentucky University.

His deep-rooted ties to Kentucky and his passion for storytelling continue to inspire and influence many Kappa Sigma Alumni and undergraduates.

The Stephen M. Vest Scholarship-Leadership Award will be given annually to a Mu-Eta undergraduate member who excels in scholarship, leadership, and community service, all of which reflect the example Brother Vest has provided.

Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Stephen M. Vest. Donate Now!
