This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Delta-Mu Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Dale F. Morrison. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Morrison's name that will benefit a Delta-Mu Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Delta-Mu does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will be directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Delta-Mu undergraduates.
The Dale F. Morrison Scholarship-Leadership Award will be given annually to a Delta-Mu undergraduate member who excels in scholarship, leadership, and community service, all of which reflect the example Brother Morrison provided.
Brother Dale F. Morrison (Delta-Mu,’68) was a dedicated Kappa Sigma, a distinguished business leader, and a lifelong supporter of his alma mater. Initiated into the Delta-Mu Chapter on April 24, 1968, he embodied the Four Pillars of Kappa Sigma—Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. Brother Morrison earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the UND in 1971 and was later awarded an Honorary Law Degree in 1999. It was during his time at UND that he met his wife, Barbara, on a University ski trip, beginning a 52-year partnership marked by generosity and commitment to both Kappa Sigma and their University community.
Brother Morrison’s dedication to service extended far beyond his undergraduate years. He served on the UND Foundation Board from 1995 to 2004, including as Foundation President, and played a key role in the National Campaign Steering Committee that helped raise $300 million for the University. His leadership continued with the UND Center for Innovation Foundation, where he was elected chairman of the board in 2012 and re-elected for a second term in 2015. In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Brother Morrison was honored with the Sioux Award for Distinguished Achievement & Leadership in 2007, the highest honor bestowed by the UND Alumni Association & Foundation. Within Kappa Sigma, he received the prestigious John G. Tower Award in 2000, one of the highest honors for Alumni, recognizing his outstanding commitment to business, family, philanthropy, and community.
Brother Morrison built an extraordinary career, serving as President and CEO of Campbell Soup Company before becoming CEO of McCain Foods, a global leader in the frozen food industry. He later co-founded TriPointe Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in New York City. Over the years, he also held executive positions at Fenway Partners, General Foods, and PepsiCo, where he managed significant international operations. In addition, his leadership extended to the corporate world as a board member of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. and InterContinental Hotels Group.
Despite his remarkable professional success, Brother Morrison never forgot the Brotherhood that helped shape him. The Delta-Mu Chapter proudly honors his lifelong dedication through the Dale F. Morrison Scholarship-Leadership Award, supporting undergraduate members who exemplify his legacy of leadership, service, and excellence.
