This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Epsilon-Upsilon Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Alan L. McNatt. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to establish a permanent $1,000 annual Scholarship in Brother McNatt's name that will benefit an Epsilon-Upsilon Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Epsilon-Upsilon raises $50,000 during the weekend, it will automatically double to a $2,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will be directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Epsilon-Upsilon undergraduates.
Brother Al McNatt is a distinguished alumnus of the Epsilon-Upsilon Chapter and the University of North Texas, whose lifelong commitment has left an indelible mark on both the Chapter and the University. A true steward of our Order, he has exemplified the values of Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service in everything he does. His unwavering dedication to Kappa Sigma is evident in his generosity—he was the largest donor behind the construction of the Chapter House on Greek Row and personally funded its monthly expenses for many years, ensuring future generations of Brothers would have a home to grow and thrive.
Beyond Kappa Sigma, Brother McNatt’s impact on UNT is immeasurable. His generosity has strengthened the University in countless ways, most notably through his support of student-athletes and the construction of UNT’s new indoor practice stadium. His leadership as the owner and president of McNatt Properties has shaped North Texas through commercial development, further demonstrating his dedication to building a strong and prosperous community.
Brother McNatt’s legacy is one of service, leadership, and a powerful belief in Brotherhood. He is an inspiration to Epsilon-Upsilon undergraduates and Alumni alike, embodying the very best of what it means to be a Kappa Sigma. The Alan L. McNatt Named Scholarship-Leadership Award ensures that his impact will endure for generations, recognizing Epsilon-Upsilon Undergraduates who reflect his dedication to academics, leadership, and service—core values that define both Brother McNatt and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
The Alan L. McNatt Scholarship-Leadership Award will be given annually to an Epsilon-Upsilon undergraduate member who excels in scholarship, leadership, and community service, all of which reflect the example Brother McNatt has provided.
