Gamma-Nu (Washburn University)
Support Kappa Sigma at Washburn!

This Stephen Alonzo Jackson Weekend of Giving, we're asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to support a cause near and dear to the Gamma-Nu Chapter– the creation of a new Scholarship-Leadership Award named in honor of Brother Charles "Ed" Webber. 100% of your gift, in the amount of $10.34, $50.34, $150.34, $340, $3,400, or $34,000, will help fund this special scholarship.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 to establish a permanent $2,000 annual Scholarship in Brother Webber's name that will benefit a Gamma-Nu Chapter Brother every year in perpetuity. In the event Gamma-Nu does not reach the $50,000 threshold during the Weekend but reaches $25,000, it will automatically create a $1,000 annual Scholarship-Leadership Award. All amounts raised shy of $25K between or over $50K will be directed to the existing Chapter Scholarship Fund to benefit Gamma-Nu undergraduates.

Dr. Charles Edward “Ed” Webber ‘64 was a dedicated Kappa Sigma Brother, community leader, and lifelong advocate for the arts and service. Throughout his life, Ed embodied the principles of leadership, generosity, and commitment—whether through his service to Kappa Sigma, his distinguished career in dentistry, or his involvement in numerous civic and philanthropic organizations.

A proud graduate of Washburn University and the University of Missouri School of Dentistry, Ed’s passion for service led him to commission in the U.S. Navy, where he was attached to the Third Marine Division in Vietnam. After completing his military service, he returned to Topeka and built a successful dental practice, serving his community for over 50 years.

Beyond his professional career, Ed was deeply engaged in causes close to his heart. He was a Kappa Sigma volunteer and advocate, supporting the Fraternity throughout his life. He was also a former board member and longtime supporter of the Sunflower Music Festival, demonstrating his enduring passion for the arts. His legacy of leadership, service, and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

The Charles "Ed" Webber Scholarship-Leadership Award will be given annually to a Gamma-Nu undergraduate member who excels in scholarship, leadership, and community service, all of which reflect the example Brother Webber provided.

Now is the time to rally behind this historic initiative and honor the lasting legacy of Brother Charles "Ed" Webber. Donate Now!
